The Albarelo is a ceramic piece that has been made in Europe during more than 5 centuries, practically without modifying its design.
Its origin is persian, but its use expanded rapidly due to being a very useful container for essences, medicines or food, both for pharmacies or kitchens.
The Albarelo andalusi
In Al Andalus it was a highly produced, especially for medicine. This pottery piece was a symbol of the medicine and pharmacology from 13th century.
Ergonomics
The height is balanced to the volume that could contain but without being too heavy.
Its concave shape of the body makes it ergonomic and can be handled with one hand.
The diameter of the neck is smaller, to be able to take it with 2 fingers, this diameter is also the appropriate to access the content.
This Albarelo design is based on the traditional albarelos made in Andalusia over the centuries, the decoration is completely original from Al Yarrar.
This piece has been made and decorated entirely by hand, the decoration has been made with a design and technique from Andalusian ceramics from the 12th century.
Being an original Al Yarrar design, it contains a quality certificate with reference number and production date.
